Police to file charges on Meadowlake suspect
Published November 08, 2005
The Baytown Police Department is in the process of filing charges for
a person of interest in the string of Meadowlake Village subdivision burglaries in the past two weeks, however the case is
still under investigation.
The suspect is a resident of the Meadowlake subdivision, said Sgt. Dana Wolfe of the Harris
County Sheriff’s Office.
Baytown Police is working with members of the Burglary Apprehension Response Squad (BARS)
of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
They believe that more than one person is involved in the crimes, and
multiple photo spreads of several other suspects are currently being put together.
“They are all diligently
working on it,” Wolfe said.
Five homes have been burglarized within eight days at the Meadowlake Village subdivision.
There will be a neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7410 Breda Drive.
The crimes were committed in
a similar fashion, with entry made into the houses by breaking a side window or by kicking in the front door, Wolfe said.
The suspect was described as a slender, black male in his early 20s riding a mountain bike and wearing a backpack.
On
Nov. 1, the Homeowners’ Association announced it would increase patrols from 25 to 40 hours per week.
Anyone
with information on the home invasions should call the Harris County Sheriff’s office at 713-455-8050.
